Derry City have completed the signing of midfielder Will Patching from Dundalk.

The 23-year old spent the first half of this season at the Brandywell on loan from the County Louth club.

His six goals and six assists in 16 outings made him a fan’s favourite on Foyleside before he was recalled by his parent club at the end of June.

Derry claimed fourth spot in the league with a win over Dundalk on Friday.

If St. Pat's beat Bohemians in Sunday's FAI Cup final the Candystripes would go into next season's Europa Conference League.

Patching becomes the third player to move from Oriel Park after Patrick McEleney and Michael Duffy arriving in the North West this week having signed pre-contract agreements earlier in the season.

There's one match in the Danske Bank Premiership on Tuesday night, with Dungannon Swifts hosting Crusaders.

The Crues are aiming to bounce back from their Belfast derby defeat at the hands of Glentoran on Saturday.

Dungannon go into the game on the back of a 4-2 win over Mid-Ulster rivals Portadown.
