McIlroy claimed his first PGA Tour win in 16th months in Boston
Rory McIlroy has jumped above Jordan Speith in the World Rankings after his victory at TPC Boston yesterday. McIlroy carded two final rounds of 66 and 65 to finish ahead of England's Paul Casey.
It was McIlroy's first tour win of the season and puts him in good stead going into the next phase of the FedEx Cup, with the top 70 players going into next week's BMW Championship. Then the top 30 will play out the season ending Tour Championship. Furthermore, Team Europe will be buoyed in seeing a return to form for the Holywood man, with the Ryder Cup only weeks away.
