Former Kerry man Tomás Ó Sé is mystified by the Tyrone county board’s decision not to give Mickey Harte a contract extension.

And he’s also urged Sean Cavanagh to put his retirement plans on hold.

O’Se was speaking to The Irish News ahead of this weekend’s All-Ireland football final replay between Dublin and Mayo.

He says Harte should be allowed to leave the Tyrone senior manager’s post on his own terms.

Earlier this month, Harte requested a one-year extension that would take him through to 2018.

This was refused.
