Linfield's opponents in the Champions League first round in Poland tonight have been hit by Covid-19.

A player from Legia Warsaw tested positive for the virus and has gone into quarantine.

This evening's tie is set to go ahead though after the latest drama for Linfield in the competition.

Last week, they were handed a walkover win at the preliminary stage after two players with rival Kosovan club FC Drita tested positive.

The entire Drita team was quarantined by Swiss health authorities so the mini-tournament decider in Nyon couldn't be played.

This time, it appears to be a different story and as things stand it is game on at Legia's famous Polish Army Stadium.

Blues boss David Healy admits it's been quite a journey in Europe so far...

The match kicks-off at 6pm and Healy says the Irish League champions can't wait...

Here's Healy's pre-match press conference, courtesy of Linfield TV:

The one-off tie will be played to a finish and the winner will enjoy home advantage in the second round against either Ararat Armenia or Omonia of Cyprus on the following Wednesday.

The losers in Poland will drop down into the qualifying rounds of the Europa League.

There's a familiar face on the Legia team - ex-Celtic keeper Artur Boruc.

Linfield had a training session at Legia's Polish Army Stadium on Monday night.
