The GAA will not run the football and hurling deciders on the same day – that’s if Slaughtneil reaches the All Ireland Senior Hurling Club Final.

The games are traditionally held on St Patrick’s Day.

However, Slaughtneil share 17 players between both panels.

The GAA’s chief of press, Alan Milton, told the Irish Independent that players couldn’t be asked to take to the field twice in one day.

The hurlers play Dublin champions Cuala on 25th February.

And the footballers will meet Dr Crokes in the final.
