Crues lead the way at top of Premiership after sinking Swifts but Reds in hot pursuit

It's a North Belfast one/two in the Danske Bank Premiership following the weekend fixtures.

Crusaders are three points clear at the top after beating Dungannon 3-0 in what started as the top two clash at Seaview on Saturday.

Philip Lowry scored twice - his brother Stephen did the same for Coleraine in a 4-0 win at Glenavon on Friday night.

After their game, the Crues announced the deadline day signing of Swifts forward Paul McElroy.

 

 

Cliftonville moved above Dungannon into second spot with a 5-1 victory away to Warrenpoint. 

Rory Donnelly scored twice and there was a rare, spectacular strike from ex-Point player Liam Bagnall with Conor McMenamin and Joe Gormley also on target. 

An Alan O'Sullivan penalty was a late consolation for the home side. 

Meanwhile, Lorcan Forde is back at Milltown, on loan from Linfield.

 

 

The other Premiership game at the weekend ended in a 1-0 victory for Ballymena in Carrick on Friday night.

Jude Winchester grabbed the goal with Sky Blues defender Jonny Addis sent off against his old club.

Two midfielders have left Coleraine - Dean Shiels is on the move along with Cormac Burke, who’s joined Institute.

Glentoran host 'Stute in the Premiership on Monday night.

The east Belfast club have a new recruit from Croatia, 21-year-old striker Antonio Djuric.

He was given a run-out with the Glens under-20s on Saturday and hit a debut hat-trick in a 5-0 win over their Institute counterparts at the Brandywell.
