Two Covid-19 deaths announced by department as cases rise by 40

The death toll, according to DoH, stands at 567.

A further two people have died from Covid-19 in Northern Ireland.

The news comes as 40 new cases of the virus were also detected within the past 24 hours.

The death toll here now stands at 567, according to the Department of Health.

Meanwhile, one more person with COVID-19 has died in the Republic of Ireland.

There is now over 30,0000 confirmed cases there. Tthe death toll stands at 1,778.
