Two people have been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Lisa Dorrian.
The 25-year -old went missing after a party at a Caravan park in Ballyhalbert in Co.Down in 2005.
She's never been found and police launched new searches for her body earlier this week.
Detective Superintendent Jason Murphy, who is leading the investigation, said: “A 49 year old man and a 34 year old woman were arrested this morning in the Newtownards area on suspicion of murder.
“They have been taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning.”
The PSNI are using new technology to try to find the remains near the caravan park, and a nearby disused airfield.
Detective Superintendent Jason Murphy says new information and a development in technology brought about the fresh lead.
DSI Murphy wouldn’t be drawn on exactly what the new information was but says searches are expected to continue for several days.
