Gunmen have reportedly rammed a car in a residential area of Derry-Londonderry before firing shots at the driver.
Police have a large section of the Sevenoaks Estate cordoned off after the incident near a local shop.
Police were called this morning after residents reported what they thought was an explosion shortly after 7am.
The PSNI have only said they're dealing with what has been described as 'an incident' in the Sevenoaks area.
Cordons remain in place and members of the public are asked to avoid the area.
Investigators say there are no further details as officers are continuing to conduct enquiries.
Residents in the area have told Q Radio they heard a loud bang in the early hours of this morning.
Both entrances to the street are closed off as police focus their investigations near the local shop.
