That's according to the latest DAERA figures which used information on key measurements of local waste collected by the council.
The area saw the lowest rate gathered, with waste at 110 kilograms per person.
Antrim & Newtownabbey had the highest disposal rate with an average of 152 kilograms per person.
The report is updated quarterly and contains information on key measurements of local authority collected (LAC) municipal waste for councils and waste management groups in Northern Ireland.
Northern Ireland’s councils collected 267,013 tonnes of LAC municipal waste between July and September 2016.
This was a 3.7% increase on the 257,445 tonnes collected during the same three months of 2015.
The household waste preparing for reuse, dry recycling and composting rate was 48.5% between July and September 2016, an increase on the 45.3% recorded during the same three months of 2015.
At council level, rates varied from 40.9% in Belfast to 55.1% in Mid Ulster.
Overall, the recovery rate across Northern Ireland increased by 1.6% compared to last years figures.
