Dungannon's Darryl takes top spot at Battle Of The Buskers

Dungannon man Darryl Quinn took the top prize at Saturday’s ‘Battle of the Buskers.’

It was Dungannon’s Day of Music on Saturday.

And as well as the buskers’ competition, Pop in the Park free open air concert was also staged.

Darryl was among 22 buskers who made the streets their stage on Saturday during the town’s second busking event.

It was organised by Mid Ulster District Council in partnership with Dungannon Regeneration Partnership and Dungannon Traders’ Association.

 Yegor Isachenka was runner-up, and 13 year old Hugo Boitel-Gill held onto his title as Best Young Performer. Dave Mullan was awarded the ‘Spirit of Battle of the Buskers’.

 

 Judges on the day were Malachi Cush, Raymond Stewart of Stewart’s Music Shop, and Andrew Boyd, Music Teacher at Dungannon Royal School.

 Shoppers were also treated to a performance by Lisa McHugh.

Pop in the Park was compered by Michael Glackin and headlined by Bagatelle.

 The evening of music also included performances from Abba-Esque, Callum Stewart, Chelsea Chambers and Darryl Quinn.
