Today, British pop-band Absnt Mind release their new single “Wardrobe”, which was first conceived when band member Ashton was people watching on the Piccadilly Line. Having installed a studio in their shared house in North London, the boys developed the R&B-tinged pop song with clever lyrics - inspired by Sabrina Carpenter's Bed Chem - before taking to producer Frank Colucci to collaboratively finish off their favourite song to date. Coming together through a shared love of songwriting, the five members – Alex, Ashton, Conor, Freddie and Oscar – co-write every song and represent the complex and introspective viewpoints of their generation Z. The boys are currently holed up in Los Angeles writing new songs and working with some very exciting USA producers. They took an old VHS camcorder and filmed their new video for “Wardrobe” in and around LA.

“Opening the new season of Absnt Mind, Wardrobe is bringing the vibes we have all been needing! We made this tune with a spin on how it feels to know your ex is wearing your style but for someone else. With Sabrina’s Bed Chem on loop, the inspo came on the way home from an Amie Blu gig with a dead phone and nothing to do but people-watch on the Piccadilly line. A girl got on with the flyest jumper, and it sparked this concept of your clothes living on with someone you aren’t with anymore - bittersweet that you made their swag but for someone new.” – Ashton

With screaming fans – Absntees - taking over their sold-out London Bush Hall headline last month, the band have already sold out shows in Belfast and Manchester in 2025, and will headline sold out shows at Belfast The Mac on 13 June and Dublin Academy Green Room on 15 June, having already upgraded Dublin due to popular demand. Absnt Mind have also just been announced for Main Stage at Pride in Brighton 02 August and Bear Grylls’ Gone Wild Festival 10 August, with more summer shows and festivals to be announced. Not many new bands can sell 7500+ tickets in just under a year, but Absnt Mind have captured the hearts of their generation through honest storytelling. The five boys came up with their name having felt so much pressure, from exams, from peers, from social media presence, and their drive is to encourage their growing fanbase to free your mind from pressure and live in the moment.

Since they moved in together just over a year ago, Absnt Mind's bond has become rock-solid. "We've had a lot of time to develop the band's sound and image organically while working on our friendship," Oscar says. They've also honed their stage moves and live vocals by performing at over 250+ schools up and down the country – sometimes for sixth formers, sometimes for much younger pupils. As well as sharpening their stagecraft, school shows have allowed Absnt Mind to share advice and connect with young people who are still figuring out their paths in life. "We always do a Q&A session at schools after we perform. I think that lets people see that we're just normal lads who happen to be making our way in the music world. It demystifies the whole thing," Alex says. "And we talk a lot about mental health, toxic masculinity and bullying which are really important issues for us as a band," Oscar adds. "I think it's helpful for kids to hear us speaking openly about that stuff because we're only a couple of years older than them. I wish I'd been able to have those conversations when I was at school. Doing this is really important to us. "

Absnt Mind have already gained solid support from BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 1, Official Charts and MTV Push for their heartfelt pop anthem“Special”, which was produced by Mark Schick (Dua Lipa, Troye Sivan, Dermot Kennedy) and co-written alongside J C Stewart and Sara Boe at Peter Gabriel's legendary Real World Studios. The official video, directed by Ramzey Sabbagh, shows the five boys’ connection and friendship with each other, as they prepare to take flight as a group.

Each member comes from a different part of the UK and brings his own musical perspective. Londoner Ashton is a vocal harmony maestro who's become known as the "smart one" of the band. Chester lad Alex takes inspiration from his favourite indie bands: Oasis, Catfish and the Bottlemen and The 1975. Conor is a singer and songwriter already known on the Northern Irish music scene and points out proudly that Absnt Mind's recent Belfast date "sold out in less than an hour". Youngest member Freddie, a TikTok aficionado and pop music obsessive from Derby, can reel off the lyrics to any current chart hit. And Skipton-born Oscar adds serious flavour with his sharp, sardonic wit and emotive performance style. The chemistry is real: spending time with Absnt Mind at their shared house in North London is like watching your favourite pop-band star in their own home-made reality TV show.

Growing their YouTube views to almost 1 million in six months, the band has a respectful catalogue of acoustic covers from artists they love, including Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan and Shawn Mendes through to Sabrina Carpenter, Gracie Abrams and Raye. As well as writing their own tunes, the boys have been working with some of the biggest songwriters in the UK and across the globe, including Kamille, Wayne Hector, Jon Ryan, Jamie Scott, Mike Neidle, Corey Sanders, Steve Mac and Anya Jones and producers including Mark Ralph, Billented, Mojam, Matt Rad, Mark Schick, Goldfingers, Danish powerhouse duo PHD and Swedish duo Jack ‘n Coke.
