A sum of money and jewellery of ‘immense sentimental value’ have been stolen from a house in Omagh.

Residents returned to the property on Brook Street at around 4.30pm on Wednesday to find many of the rooms had been ransacked.

Two wedding rings and an engagement ring were among the items taken, leaving the owners distressed.

Police are appealing for information.

Constable Harkness said: “The occupants returned home to find that entry had been forced to the house, with many of the rooms rummaged through.

“This would have happened on Wednesday afternoon, between 1pm and 4.30pm.

“A sum of money and some pieces of jewellery of immense sentimental value were taken, including two wedding rings and an engagement ring.

“The intrusion has, understandably, left the owners distressed.

“I am appealing to anyone with information, or who noticed any suspicious activity, to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1197 of 27/01/21.”
