WATCH: Woman rescued from burning house in Portrush

A woman has been rescued from a burning house in Portrush. 

The fire broke out when the occupant was out walking her dog at around 11.20am this morning. 

She returned to find the property on Victoria Strret engulfed in flames.

Her daughter escaped after a neighbour rushed to the scene and placed ladders against an upstairs window. 

Councillor Norman Hillis has been speaking to Q Radio.  

The cause of the blaze is being treating as accidental. 

A PSNI spokesperson said: '' Police received a report of a fire at a house in the Victoria Street area of Portrush this morning shortly before 11:20 am.''

''Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire, which is being treated as accidental.''
