Two men charged over Ballymena assault which left two people hospitalised

Two men have been charged over an attack in Ballymena last month which left two men in hospital. 

At least five people were injured when masked men forced their way into a property in the Orkney Drive area armed with weapons including hammers. 

The men aged 32 and 58 have been charged with aggravated burglary and inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and grievous bodily harm with intent.

The 58-year-old faces an additional charge of possessing petrol bombs in suspicious circumstances. 

The pair will appear before Antrim Magistrates Court later this morning. 

As is normal procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
