The uncle of Dungannon actor, Daniel Cullen, who tragically drowned in Dublin a week ago has paid tribute to the Garda and the PSNI for their "meticulous and sensitive investigation" into his nephew's death.

Gerry Cullen says 34-year-old Daniel was enjoying a night out with friends in Dublin where he was working when he sadly fell into the River Liffey and died despite efforts of local people to save him.

Mr. Cullen says his family takes some comfort from police reports that state Daniel's death was a tragic accident that could not have been foreseen and could not have been prevented.

In praising the Garda, PSNI and Dublin rescue services for their support and kindness towards his family, Mr. Cullen also paid tribute to the people of Dungannon and from throughout Northern Ireland who have supported distraught relatives at this sad and tragic time.

Daniel's funeral takes place in Dungannon on Wednesday.
