Teenager charged with GBH over Belfast City Hall attack

A teenager has been charged with GBH after an attack on a 23-year-old man in Belfast City Centre.

The man was left seriously injured in hospital after it happened early Saturday morning on Donegall Square North, outside Belfast City Hall.

The accused, 19 is due before Belfast Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Police say the charge against him will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Detective Sergeant Dane is keen to hear from witnesses, or anyone who was in the Donegall Square North area just before 2am yesterday morning, or anyone who has dash-cam footage of this incident or who may be able to assist with the investigation to contact detectives at Musgrave on the non emergency number 101, quoting reference 122 of 10/11/18."
