PSNI officers were working with Gardai when a Citroen Berlingo van crossed the border into Northern Ireland.
The vehicle was discovered a short time later but before officers could speak to the driver it rammed the PSNI car and taxi before taking off.
Four Officers investigating the initial incident were rammed about an hour later.
They reported a dark coloured Audi A6. travelling on the Dundalk Road towards Crossmaglen
All six officers are now off work with their injuries and three police vehicles have been taken off the road.
MLA Megan Fearon condemned any similar behaviour towards the police and called on anyone with information to come forward.
"If officers have difficulty carrying out their job because of these type of assaults then it is the public who suffer and are put at risk" she said.
"This community does not wish to see this type of situation.
"The Police Service should be allowed to serve the community and to investigate crime without the fear of being attacked."
