Royal mail staff who refused to enter the main sorting office in Derry/Londonderry have returned to work.

The stand off was due to worker's concerns about the spread of coronavirus and their demand for a deep clean of the premises.

Almost half of the 120-strong workforce are still off work and self-isolating following an outbreak of the virus

However David Kennedy from the Communications Workers' Union says around 15 of the company's 70 vans which will need cleaned, will be off the road for 3 days.

He warned that post is already being piled up in porta-cabins which could cause delays in the run-up to Christmas.
