An extensive clean of Musgrave police station is due to be completed by tomorrow morning following an outbreak of lice.
The PSNI says around 30 cells are still available at the site in Belfast today after a partial closure.
The exact cause of the outbreak is being investigated, with a number of additional custosy suites being used in other police stations.
It's understood a number of senior legal figures have announced plans to lodge complaints.
Superintendent Simon Walls said: “The deep clean at Musgrave custody suite continues however continuity of service has been maintained.
"Indeed, there are currently a maximum of 30 cells available for use at the suite today. We also have additional capacity in Bangor, Armagh and Antrim.
“We have liaised with the Law Society to inform them of some changes to custody arrangements during the time of limited opening in Musgrave.
“It is anticipated that the suite will fully re-open on Wednesday morning.”
