Pedestrian dies following east Belfast road traffic collision

Police have said that 79 year old Patrick McDermott has died following a road traffic collision yesterday.

At around 3:30pm a vehicle hit a pedestrian on the Albertbridge Road on Friday.

Mr McDermott was from the east of the city.

Inspector Ian McCormick would appeal to anyone who was in the area of the Albertbridge Road at that time and may have witnessed this incident to contact Police at Strandtown on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 767 19/05/17.
