Motorist attacked by knife-wielding assailants during west Belfast hijacking

A motorist has been attacked by a knife-wielding man on a filling station fore-court in west Belfast.

The attacker and an assailant whose faces were covered got into the passenger side of a black Volkswagen golf around 9pm last night on the Andersonstown road.

The driver was struck a number of times before exiting the car and running into the filling station shop.

The two men then drove off in the vehicle which has still not been found.

The driver did not require medical attention following the incident and efforts are ongoing to locate the stolen car.

Detectives would ask any witnesses to this incident or anyone who has any information which could be of assistance to their investigation to contact them at Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 1777 29/01/21.
