Two men armed with a knife and a pipe have stolen cigarettes and cash from a shop in Belfast.

A third man waited at the door of the service station on York Street, during the robbery at around 6.35pm yesterday evening.

Police say after demanding cash, the men jumped over the counter and attempted to open the till before making off with a quantity of cigarettes.

The suspects then made their way up North Queen Street into Spamount Street.

One man has been described as being 6'2" in height, of slim build with short dark hair and wearing tracksuit bottoms and a grey tracksuit top.

The second male is described as being in his 20s, 5'11" in height, slim build and wearing a dark navy hoody.

The third man is believed to be shorter in height and wearing a blue hooded coat.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have CCTV covering the streets in the area, or anyone who was in the York Street area at the time, to contact them on 101 quoting reference 1086 of 13/11/18.
