A man has been attacked and had his bike stolen in Belfast.

He was found bleeding from the head around Royal Avenue in the City Centre last night.

It's understood the man behind the assault was with a woman who took the bicycle.

Detective Inspector Richard Thornton said "At approximately 8:00 pm the man was found bleeding from the head and taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

"It is believed he had earlier been on a bicycle and was attacked by a man accompanied by a female who then stole the bicycle.
