A man has been left badly shaken after his car was hijacked by two men in Antrim last night around midnight.

Police say two men flagged him down, one of whom appeared to be in distress, while he was travelling between Kirby's Lane and Tirgacy Road.

It's understood they first pretended they needed a lift, before dragging the victim from his car and throwing him to the ground.

Both men then got into the vehicle and drove off.

The PSNI says the red Vauxhall Corsa was found this morning, crashed on the Ballyclan Road in Crumlin.

Witnesses or those with information regarding the incident are asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 96 19/09/18.

Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous.
