A man has been arrested in relation to comments he made online after a policeman was shot in North Belfast.
The Community officer was hit by two bullets after the incident on the Crumlin Road last month.
A group calling itself the 'New IRA' Claimed responsibility for the attack.
Detectives say an AK-47 style weapon was used to spray the garage forecourt with bullets.
In a Facebook post the PSNI said " One of our Facebook followers last week flagged up to us that an individual had posted not just highly offensive, but seemingly terrorist supporting messages on Facebook.
"The comment was shown to Chief Inspector Burrows, who was disgusted and said this: 'We won't tolerate such remarks whether they are online or in the street about our colleagues who are attacked whilst protecting their community.
'If people post such comments we will bring them to justice.'
"As a result, Sergeant Gaz and his team set about doing some research and a search operation was put together.
The suspects home is being searched, and he's been taken for questioning.
