A 34-year-old man has been arrested following a spate of burglaries in Belfast City Centre

A number of break-ins at commercial premises were reported in the early hours of yesterday morning (5 January).

The suspect is being questioned in relation to a number of offences.

Detectives have also seized a vehicle.

Sergeant Stuart Jackson explained: “Following reports of four commercial burglaries, two of the same premises a matter of hours apart, local officers made an arrest following the search of a residential property in the Twinbrook area of West Belfast this morning. The male arrested is currently helping with ongoing enquiries.

“We will continue to carry out patrolling across the City and work with a range of partners to provide businesses with crime prevention advice. I would also remind business operators to ensure they have taken every possible step to protect their business and to contact their local police crime prevention officer on 101 if they need any further information.”
