Local care homes placed in administration

Braefield care home, Connor

There's uncertainty for two local care homes, Slemish in Ballymena and Braefield in Connor.

It's after an administrator was appointed yesterday to their owners Care Circle and Slemish Homes. 

Deloitte said the homes will continue to operate as normal and that no job losses are planned.

It's understood the businesses have been placed into administration to enable continued trading.

But UNISONs Joe McCusker, thinks the care home economic model is now broken:
