An investigation is underway following the death of a worker in a concrete factory in Tandragee.

A man in his 20s died following an incident at Taranto on Old Scarva Road yesterday prompting the Health & Safety Executive probe.

The company’s director says everyone is devastated by what happened.

Local councillor Brona Haughey says her thoughts are with those left grieving.

Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious at this time.

John Stenson, Taranto's commercial director, said: ''We can confirm that an employee has tragically died following an incident on Tuesday 3rd August at our manufacturing facility in Tandragee, Co. Armagh.

''The entire company is devastated.

''At this very sad time our thoughts are with the family, friends and workmates of our deceased colleague.

''We will be working closely with the relevant authorities as they carry out an incident investigation.

''We will also be providing support and offering professional counselling to all Taranto employees and anyone from the community who has been affected by this tragic incident.''
