Police have arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of criminal damage following a report of graffiti in south Belfast.
He has since been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
It follows condemnation of graffiti threatening journalists.
It was painted on a temporary wall at Bradbury Place on Friday.
The PSNI tweeted: "We have become aware of offensive graffiti in the area of Bradbury Place. We have launched an investigation and appeal to anyone with information to come speak with us or Crimestoppers. We are currently working with partners to have the graffiti removed."
