Four arrested following Ballynahinch stabbing

A man in his 40's has been taken to hospital following a stabbing in Ballynahinch.

It follows an incident at a house in the Windmill Gardens area in the early hours of this morning.

Police say he's being treated for a number of stab wounds and is in a stable condition.

Three men and a woman, all aged between 20 and 40, have been arrested in connection with the incident

 

A PSNI statement said:

"Detectives are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Ballynahinch during the early hours of this morning, Sunday 17 November."

"At around 1.45am it was reported that some form of altercation was taking place at a house in Windmill Gardens.  A man, aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital for treatment for a number of stab wounds where his condition is described as stable.  A 22 year old female and 3 males, aged 20, 26 and 40, have been arrested and remain in police custody at this time."

"Detective Inspector Darren Handley is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact Detectives in Newry on 101 quoting reference 185 17/11/19.  Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime."
