Covid-19: Five deaths, 5,023 new cases

Five deaths and 5,023 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the past 24 hours, the Department of Health has confirmed.

There are 213 people in hospital who have tested positive for the virus and 21 of them are in intensive care.

Of those 21 people, 18 have been placed on ventilators.

The death toll since the pandemic began stands at 3,077.

The age group with the highest percentage of individuals testing positive is now five to nine year olds.

There are outbreaks in 213 care homes.
