A man's been found not guilty of causing a fatal car crash in Cookstown by standing in the middle of a road.

30 year old Jonathan Ferguson, from Elm Park in Moneymore denied unlawfully killing Bernie McNicholl in April 2015.

The prosecution service alleged he was thumbing a lift home after his stag night three years ago forcing a car to swerve to avoid him.

The car then struck a tree killing Ms. McNicholl.

Jurors heard Mr. Ferguson say he had played no part in the circumstances that led to the collision because he was never on the Moneymore Road where it happened.
