A Crumlin school has been placed into formal intervention by the Department of Education.

Today's Irish News is reporting that Straidhavern Primary formally entered the "special measures" process in March.

It's after inspectors said the school needed to significantly improve pupil numeracy, staff leadership and other areas.

Straidhavern Primary's pupil numbers fell sharply as RAF families left when the nearby RAF Aldergrove closed.
