Belfast man killed in Dublin crash

A 24-year-old man from Belfast has been killed in a crash in Dublin.

Patrick Joyce is understood to have been in the city for his Grandmother's funeral when it happened yesterday.

His truck reportedly collided with metal fencing and a tree at Fairview Park while it was being followed by Gardaí.

A woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was left in a critical condition in hospital.

A 13-year-old boy, also in the van was treated for non life threatening injuries.

Garda Síochána Ombudsman Officers have been notified of the incident.

A spokersperson said: "Anyone with information in relation to the collision are asked to contact Clontarf Garda Station on 01 - 6664800, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station."
