13 further covid-19 deaths and almost 2,000 new cases in NI

13 more people have died in Northern Ireland after contracting COVID-19 according to the Department of Health.

It brings the death recorded by the Department to 1,397. 

1,985 new cases of covid-19 have also been confirmed in Northern Ireland in the past 24 hours. 

In the past seven days, the Department of Health has recorded 12,144 positive cases, which is up by 7,425 from the previous week.

561 people are in hospitals across the region with COVID-19 with 44 in intensive care and 37 on ventilators.

Hospitality occupancy across Northern Ireland was put at 102%.
