Slaughtneil won their fourth consecutive Derry Senior Football title

By Richard O'Reilly

Slaughtneil picked up their fourth Derry Senior Football title on the spin with a win over Ballinascreen on Sunday.

The Robbies were 4-12 to 1-11 winners at Celtic Park.

Shane McGuigan scored twice, with Chrissy McKaigue and Keelan Feeny adding the other two scores.

Anton Kelly grabbed 'Screen's only goal of the game.

Slaughtneil will begin the defence of their Ulster Club Championship when they take on the Down champions in the preliminary round in Newry next month.

Last March the Robbies were beaten finalists in the All-Ireland Club CHampionships for the second time in three years.

Earlier this month Slaughtneil also defended their Derry Senior Hurling title with a 2-18 to 0-14 win over Bannagher.

Elsewhere, Dunloy picked up a first Antrim hurling title in 8 years with a  2-15 to 2-9 victory over Cushendall at Ballycastle on Sunday.

It was a 12th Antrim title for the Cú Chulainn's.
