Cliftonville will face Linfield in the Irish Cup quarter-finals after the Reds knocked out local rivals Crusaders in a controversial sixth round clash.

It finished 4-1 at Solitude with Joe Gormley hitting a hat-trick.

The opener was a penalty that had to be taken twice as Crues midfielder Declan Caddell, who had just been sent off, hadn't left the pitch for Gormley's first missed attempt.

Cliftonville manager Barry Gray reckons it was the right decision by the referee.

Crues boss Stephen Baxter was so disgusted with some of the decisions at one point he thought about walking away.

It was the Reds’ first win against their north Belfast neighbours in three-and-a-half years.

Hat-trick hero Gormley says they had a point to prove and did it in style.

Cliftonville chairman Gerard Lawlor says after beating the league leaders they'll look forward to their last eight showdown at Windsor Park on March 3rd.

An upset on Saturday saw second-tier Loughgall score a 2-1 home win over Ards, who had three players sent off.

The villagers go to Glenavon in the quarter-finals.

Larne are away to Ballymena and Coleraine host Glentoran.

The Glens beat Ballyclare 4-0 in the sixth round - Curtis Allen scoring all the goals.
