Omagh Academy girl selected for Ireland under 16 Hockey squad

Jess Hood, a pupil at the Omagh Academy has been named on the Ireland under 16 hockey squad. 

She'll be playing with them as they head to Barcelona for a six nations tournament next month. 

Jess has played for Ulster and helped them to inter-provincial glory last year. 

There's 18 players named on the squad altogether, with 6 others being from Ulster. 

The Ireland squad will be taking place in the tournament which runs from Jul 17-23. 

In preparation, they'll be playing three test games against Scotland in Glasgow, before they head to Spain on July 14.
