Team NI will be given a hero's welcome back from the Commonwealth Games later.

Northern Ireland put in one of their Top 3 performances in the competition since 1994...with 12 medals.

That matched the total from Glasgow four years ago.

It’s the best ever NI medals haul at a Games held on foreign soil.

Gymnast Rhys McClenaghan won the province's sole gold.

The 18-year-old's among the stars due to be welcomed home in Belfast later.

A special event's taking place at Queen's pavillion on the Upper Malone Road at half five this evening.

Boxer Paddy Barnes won gold at the previous two Commonwealths and he told Q Radio this time Northern Ireland has again punched well above its weight on the world stage.
