Ulster's players will take to the field in a brand new kit for their European campaign.

It's the first time the province has a bespoke kit for Europe, and will be worn during both home and away games.

The jersey was unveiled last night at a supporters event, where 250 Season Ticket holders were in attendance.

New players Charles Piutau, Marcell Coetzee, Kieran Treadwell, Angus Lloyd, Rodney Ah You and Brett Herron wore the new clothing, while MC for the evening was Ulster Rugby's Season Ticket Ambassador Andrew Trimble.

The shirt the latest technology and bold designs (4D technical fabric, with a bridge collar and is sublimated), and is made in Lisburn.

There's a traditional rugby hoop design with some smaller hoops for a modern touch, and the chest area is decorated with a white flash to display the logo.

Bank of Ireland, BT Sport and Go Power also feature prominently.

A European Cup trophy illustration marks the side panels, with a star in the middle to pay tribute to the victorious '99 European Champions.

Inside the collar of the jersey are the words, "I take my stand by the Ulster names," a dedication to the loyalty of the fans. (It's the opening line to poet John Hewitt's 'Ulster Names.)

The season is a matter of weeks away, and kicks off on September 2 against Newport Gwent Dragons in the Guinness Pro12.

The Ulstermen lost their first pre-season friendly to Leinster- 31-14 at Navan on Saturday.

There are two more to be played- Les Kiss' men take on Exeter at Sandy Park on Saturday, before a home clash against Northampton Saints the following Friday evening.
