Cliftonville beat Linfield 2-1 at Windsor Park on Saturday

Cliftonville emerged as potential contenders for the Danske Bank Premiership title with a dramatic weekend victory against Linfield.

Ross Lavery struck in the last minute to give the Reds a 2-1 win at Windsor Park and move them to within a point of the second-placed Blues.

Crusaders are seven points clear at the top after David Cushley's injury time goal secured a 1-0 victory over Ards at Seaview.

Cliftonville captain Jason McGuinness says he's happy if critics still want to consider the league a two-horse race between the Crues and the Blues.

It was Linfield's first home defeat in the league since Cliftonville beat them at Windsor a year ago.

Blues boss David Healy admits he's bitterly disappointed.

Also on Saturday, Ballymena United crashed to a 4-1 defeat at home to Dungannon Swifts while Coleraine beat visiting Ballinamallard 3-1.

The other two matches ended one-each - Glenavon against Glentoran and the basement battle between Carrick and Portadown.
