Ireland's men well-beaten by 40 runs at Bready but victory for the women
IN the first of two T20 meetings between the sides Ireland found themselves outclassed as Nizakat Kahn hit 62 in a 40 run Hong Kong victory. Hong Kong finished on a 169-5 after their 20 overs.
Ireland were then all out for 129 with Greg Thompson's 44 and Kevin O'Brian's 32 unable to add shine to an otherwise poor Irish display. The Irish will need a much improved performance for the second match on Tuesday, but can take heart in last week's ICC Intercontinental Cup win over Hong Kong last week.
Well played to @CricketHK, they have won by 40 runs. #BackingGreen #IREVHK

Meanwhile there was better news for Ireland's women at Bready. They beat Bangladesh in a rain-shortened 10 over match by 6 runs.
Clare Shillington led the way for Ireland with 26, as the home side finished on 54-8, while Bangladesh could only muster a score of 48-6.
Final delivery goes for 2, and @IrishWomensCric win by 6 runs, and go 1-0 up in the series! #BackingGreen #IREVBGD
