Linfield will attempt to win their first trophy in three years against Crusaders in the Toals County Antrim Shield final

The Danske Bank Premiership title rivals clash at the Ballymena Showgrounds with a 7.45 kick-off.

The Blues lost two cup finals last year during David Healy's first season in charge.

And the Northern Ireland legend says it's time for his players to step up to the mark.

Crues boss Stephen Baxter says while retaining the league title is his top priority, he's also determined to bring the Shield back to Seaview...

Linfield last tasted trophy success when they beat the Crues in Ballymena to win the Shield in 2014.

Michael Carvill netted for the Blues in the penalty shoot-out, but has since switched to the Shore Road.

He says this evening's clash with his old club has all the ingredients for a cup classic.

Blues defender Mark Haughey is hoping a trophy breakthrough tonight will pave the way for league and cup success.

We asked him how important the Shield is to the club as they chase the treble?

The Blues had protested at plans for the final to be staged at Seaview, resulting in a move to the neutral venue of Ballymena.

The last time the sides met, David Healy's men won a controversial clash on New Year's Eve to stay in the title race.

And Crues midfielder Richard Clarke says it promises to be another feisty affair at Warden Street.

Clarke says the games between the teams this season show the Shield decider is too close to call.
