A Northern Ireland woman is recovering in hospital, after a stabbing incident in the centre of Manchester.

19 year-old Chloe McGurk sustained stab wounds after shoppers were attacked by a man in the Arndale Centre just after 11 o'clock this morning.

Three people including the Newtownabbey teenager have been taken to hospital.

A 41 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of terrorism.

It's understood the Belfast teen flew to the city this morning - to go shopping with friends.

Local councillor Alison Bennington says she's shocked at the news that one of her constituents was caught up in the drama and says the thoughts of everyone are with all of the victims and their families.
