Title race heats up with Blues one point behind Crues

Linfield players say they'll battle till the bitter end in their quest to win the Danske Bank Premiership for the first time in five years. 

David Healy's men are now only one point behind leaders Crusaders after beating them 1-0 at Windsor Park on Saturday. 

Teenage star Paul Smyth says the Blues are determined to give it a real go in the remaining four league games.


Crues defender Billy Joe Burns says they're not pressing the panic button after the Windsor defeat.



Also on Saturday, Coleraine beat visiting Cliftonville 2-0 to move five points ahead of the Reds in third place. 


Darren McCauley grabbed both goals as the Bannsiders stretched their unbeaten run in all competitions.



Stripes boss Oran Kearney has been named Northern Ireland manager of the month for March. 

And defensive stalwart David Ogilby says he's building something special at the Showgrounds.



The other games also resulted in home wins.

Glenavon beat Ballymena 3-0 with 17-year-old striker Jordan Jenkins scoring twice.

It was 4-1 to Ards over Dungannon. Matthew Shevlin - on loan from Ballymena - got a double.



Ballinamallard had a 3-0 win against Glentoran.

And Portadown delayed their relegation for at least another week, late goals giving them a 2-1 victory in the basement battle with Carrick Rangers.
