Both Tuesday night's BetMcLean League Cup semi-finals have been postponed.

Ballymena were due to host Cliftonville with Crusaders travelling to Dungannon Swifts.

It's the second time the fixtures have fallen foul of the weather as they were also called off in December.

Stangmore Park passed a pitch inspection but Dungannon said later: "Due to the current weather and that forecast across the country for the rest of the day the decision has been made to postpone for the safety of those players and supporters travelling to and from the game."

Here’s Swifts manager Rodney McAree...

The Northern Ireland Football League issued a statement -

"Following the adverse weather conditions across Northern Ireland, please note the following updates in relation to the BetMcLean League Cup semi-finals due to take place tonight (Tuesday 16 January).

"Ballymena United v Cliftonville (venue: Ballymena Showgrounds; kick-off: 7.45pm)

"Following a pitch inspection this game is now OFF.

"Dungannon Swifts v Crusaders (venue: Stangmore Park; kick-off: 7.45pm)

"Following concerns raised regarding the weather conditions and potential safety of players, supporters and officials this game is now OFF

"Details of the re-arranged date for these fixtures are yet to be confirmed and will be advised when finalised."
