Crusaders remain four-points clear at the top of the Danske Bank Premiership following a narrow 1-0 victory over bottom side Portadown

Second-placed Linfield kept the pressure on Premiership leaders Crusaders at the weekend with a 4-0 win away to Dungannon.

The Crues needed a Gavin Whyte penalty to beat bottom club Portadown 1-0 at Shamrock Park.

The defending champions remain four points clear at the top but Blues star Ross Gaynor says he's confident of catching them.

Gaynor grabbed the final Linfield goal on Saturday - Jimmy Callacher claimed the opener and the other scorers were Jamie Mulgrew and Niall Quinn.

Elsewhere, third-placed Ballymena had a 2-0 home win against Carrick Rangers.

Kyle Owens and Willie Faulkner scored for the Sky Blues in the last 15 minutes.

Cliftonville stay fourth in the standings after a 95th-minute strike from David McDaid gave them a 1-0 victory against visiting Ballinamallard.

Jamie McGonigle struck early in the second-half as Coleraine beat Glentoran 1-0 at the Oval.

It was the same score in Bangor where Glenavon beat Ards.

Greg Moorhouse hit the winner on an eventful afternoon for the Lurgan Blues - Joel Cooper was sent off and keeper Jonny Tuffey had a penalty saved by his opposite number, Aaron Hogg.
