A County Armagh company has clinched what's being described as a significant deal with the Gaelic Athletic Association.

McKeever Sports has secured the GAA licence which gives it the green light to make official club and county playing kit and leisurewear.

Managing Director Padraic McKeever says it's a major breakthrough to bring further competition to the GAA kit market...

The company's issued the following statement:

McKeever Sports has announced that it has secured the official GAA licence which gives McKeever Sports the authority to manufacture official Club and County playing kit and leisurewear. This completes the full complement of GAA, LGFA and Camogie manufacturing licences for the fast-growing Armagh based sports company.

The announcement was made on Tuesday 10th March at a launch event in Croke Park and confirms McKeever’s authority to manufacture playing kit, in line with official rules right up to Senior Inter County level in all GAA codes.

McKeever Sports has been supplying GAA clubs, schools and Provincial Councils across Ireland, and globally, for the past 15 years. This new deal to add official GAA playing product to its range sees the company starting the 2020 season on a high and achieves a major company goal to bring further competition to the GAA Kit market.

The move comes with the support of a host of key GAA Brand Ambassadors including All Star Conor McManus (Monaghan), Rian O’Neill (Armagh), Andy Moran (Mayo) Kilkenny camogie All-Star Katie Power and Cork ladies footballer Hannah Looney who showcased some of the new kit at the event in Croke Park.

Commenting on the announcement, McKeever Sports Managing Director, Padraic McKeever said:

“We have a strong track record in providing teamwear across Ireland and beyond, and being granted an official club and county licence from The Gaelic Athletic Association is another huge step for McKeever Sports. Our goal in securing the full licensing suite is to bring freshness, innovation and excellent service to our teams as we move into a new decade. We look forward to signing more LGFA, Camogie and Mens Inter-county teams to our growing cohort and plan to try and shake things up at county level in the men’s game over the coming years”.

The GAA’s Commercial Director, Peter McKenna said:

“I’d like to welcome McKeever Sports into our stable of kit and leisurewear makers. Never before have our clubs and counties had more visibility around the country through the wearing of our colours and McKeever’s association with us runs right across the GAA family, covering camogie and ladies football also. This development sees them build on the 15 years they have worked with GAA teams at different levels and we wish them well in forging new relationships across the organisation.”

Since its establishment in 2004, trading online as, McKeever Sports has expanded to become a leading player in the Irish teamwear market. Having built a strong reputation among Ireland’s GAA clubs, McKeever Sports is also the current official teamwear supplier for All-Ireland winning LGFA county teams including Cork, Tipperary and Waterford.
