Dungannon Swifts are through to the semi-finals of the Bet McLean League Cup following a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory at Cliftonville on Tuesday night.

The holders won it 3-2 on spot kicks after extra-time had ended one-each.

Dungannon will now face Portadown or Linfield in the semis next month.

The other Tuesday night match saw Ballymena beat Glentoran 2-1 in the Danske Bank Premiership.

It moves the Sky Blues into second place, just a point behind the leaders Linfield.

A win on Friday night away to Newry and they would go top, until Saturday at least when David Healy's men face Cliftonville at Windsor Park.
